Year 13 Biology seminar

On Thursday 23rd November Year 13 students studying Biology went to Salford University for the Biology in Action seminar. The students were given interesting lectures from leading scientists in the fields of Epigenetics (how your environment affects your genes), Neuroscience following traumatic brain injuries, Exam hints and tips from an AQA examiner, the Genetics of Superheroes (how mutations lead to evolution) and Anatomy of the heart and brain using real specimens! The students were a credit to the College and had a very enjoyable day that should go a long way to prepare them for their upcoming exams! A huge thanks to all involved in the organisation of the seminar and especially to Mrs Lyth who accompanied us on the trip itself.
