English Schools Cup results

On Saturday 25th November, the St Anselm's Junior and Intermediate English Schools Cup squads took part in this year's English Schools Cup Final which was held at Sevenoaks School in Kent.

Both teams had achieved tremendous success by gaining selection for the Final. The Junior team again consisted largely of highly talented Year 7 boys but they had a tough race. However, this experience will be hugely beneficial for them in the future. They came in 27th position but all members of the squad should be immensely proud of their efforts and how they equipped themselves in the Final.

The Intermediate team came in 10th position which was a major improvement on last year's placing. Louis Johnston came 9th with Finan Johnston in 12th position, therefore consolidating themselves as two of the best school athletes in the country. Again, all Intermediate members of the team ran so well and so hard for the College and they should be very pleased with their efforts and result in the Final.

This capped a very rewarding and exciting English Schools Cup campaign and special thanks must go not only to the athletes but also to Dr Cooper, Mr Morris and Miss McKinley who have supported the boys throughout the season so far.

Well done to all who took part!
