    After weeks of incubation and just when we had nearly given up hope, our first successful gecko egg hatched on Monday Sept 10th. First on the scene was Matthew Stephens, whose keen eyes noticed movement in the incubator. The baby (named Matthew of course, though it may yet turn out to be a girl) is doing well and proved to be highly popular with visitors to Open Evening last Thursday. We hope there will be another hatching in about a week’s time! Read More

    2012 celebrates the centenary of Alan Turing, a pioneer in both maths and computing. During World War II, he worked at Bletchley Park creating some of the first techniques to crack German ciphers, including the Engima Code. Post World War II he worked at the National Physics Laboratory, developing some of the world's first concepts and designs for computers, most famous of which is probably the Turing Machine.     Year 11 students at St. Anselm’s College are celebrating some of the best GCSE results in the College’s history this week, including a record number of high-achieving students! 94% of students gained 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths, the national benchmark. 44% of students gained 5+ A*/A grades and 42% of all entries were graded at A* or A. The average score of 10+ grades A*-C per student, 522 GCSE points, confirmed that this was the College’s highest-performing GCSE cohort! This maintained the consistent improvement in the College’s results in recent years. Read More

    Students at the College are celebrating their A Level results after another year of impressive achievement! 50% of all entries gained the top grades (A*-B) with an overall 98% pass rate (grades A-E), similar to the high standards of recent years. 96% of all students achieved 3 or more GCE (A level) passes. 11% of all entries achieved the A* grade, or BTEC equivalent, awarded to the highest-performing students.
