    On 30th June we were delighted to join dozens of other Wirral schools at our fourth Wirral Film Festival. We had tough competition and did not secure any prizes but the judges commented that the students' work showed, "very good use of genre codes & conventions with a solid narrative structure."     What a great week! To give our French partners the experience of a different culture was as fascinating as it was rewarding. The work placement was challenging yet improved their English dramatically.     The month of the Sacred Heart was marked with the annual procession of the Blessed Sacrament around the College grounds. Over 400 students took part and Benediction took place before the statue of the Sacred Heart in the garden of Outwood. Fr Louis Maggiore spoke to the students afterwards and encouraged them to recognise Godís love in their lives. Read More

    Year 10 Geography Field Trip

    Twenty three Year 10 students and four sixth formers went to the Lake District for three days of walking, eating Kendal mintcake and looking at the impact of tourism on glaciated scenery. On Wednesday we walked up Helvellyn and everyone made it to the top of the mountain via the Red Tarn and Swirral edge. The top was cold and swirling in cloud but there was no rain and the lads all had a good climb. In the evening we went to the Cathedral Cavern in Langdale. Read More

    KS3 students compete in Maths Challenge National Final

    On Monday 22nd June the four boys in the Year 8 and 9 maths team travelled down to London to compete in the National final of the UKMT Team Maths Challenge. We qualified for this after taking first place in the regional heat of this competition in March. The competition included a poster round, which the boys had to prepare for by researching a mathematical topic that is not on the secondary school maths curriculum. Read More
