    U12 Sevens tournament

    The Year 7 rugby side played heroically in a tough Audenshaw regional 7s competition. Starting the day with a comprehensive three try victory over the highly fancied St Ambrose, we then succumbed 12-0 to eventual finalists Stockport. In the final group match we beat Queen Ethleburgas by 3 tries to secure 2nd place and a quarter final against the free scoring Sandbach - group 1 winners. However, a strong showing from the boys including a hat trick for Stephen Down and another solo for Sean Lynch saw us proceed to the semi-final 26-0 victors. Read More

    Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award pre-expedition training day

    After a hearty breakfast at the well renowned 'Pete's Eats' cafe in Llanberis, the Gold Duke of Edinburgh group took part in their last training session before a 4 day practice expedition in April​. The groups, known as The Wolf Pack and Feed the Goats (?) covered a variety of navigational exercises including route planning, timing, emergency procedures, hand railing, tick off features, pacing and micro navigation.     The Year 9 French students recently celebrated the French festival 'La Chandeleur'. The Catholic holiday of Candlemas, on 2 February, is a feast to commemorate the purification of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of baby Jesus. In France, this holiday is called la Chandeleur, Fête de la Lumière (Festival of light). The boys discovered that the French choose crêpes as they make the shape and colour of the sun, a natural source of light. Read More

    Mr Mason & Mr O'Keefe last Friday represented the Ireland Legends when they took on the England Legends in the Stuart Mangan Cup. The charity match played in front of 12,000 fans at the Harlequins Stoop featured many former greats of the English and Irish game including Jason Leonard, Martin Corry & Simon Shaw for England. Whilst Geordan Murphy, Shane Byrne and Mick Galwey featured in the Ireland team. The exciting match ended with England edging a thrilling match 40-33. Read More
