    Treat Day at Active Adventures; Otterspool

    Students and staff thoroughly enjoyed their day at Active Adventures. Mr Lewis was definitely Action Man for the day, his performance was impressive but he came a close second to Daniel Walker on the obstacle course. Tom Berry made fast progress around the high ropes course, as did Sam Tillotson Schroder on the obstacle course. Mrs Powell was not first out of the maze and Mrs Cooban enjoyed waving to her from the exit! Read More

    On 2nd July, Danny McDonough, a professional ceramicist (Ex Head of Art at St Anselm's college) came to work with the current Year 8 Able and Talented group. Danny demonstrated the techniques that the students need to master to produce their own ceramic tile. The Year 8 students gained a great deal from the time given by Danny and this is reflected in the quality of their work. Read More

    The KPMG “Work Ready” programme that Year 9 took part in on 2nd July, explored employability skills in a hands-on, interactive, fun and challenging session. The students worked in teams and were given the task of creating a young person with the personal skills and relevant qualifications to ensure they were employable i.e. work ready. Read More

    Lewis Burrows: Under 14 National Fishing Champion of England

    3rd July 2014

    On Saturday the 28th of June at Makins Fishery in the Midlands Lewis became the National Champion of England at U-14 level, beating some 30 finalists on the day. The team he was part of; Tameside Matrix, also won the team event on that day and Lewis was the Captain. To complete the day with a clean sweep he was also his overall section winner. Read More
