Cross Country

Cross-Country is a strong tradition St. Anselm’s College with boys given the opportunity to choose the activity as part of their Games option.  It is a great way to work towards and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and allows boys to demonstrate their personalities working hard to improve their own performance. There are a number of routes and courses across the Wirral that test runners from a variety of terrains in the past, all of which have had many successful Anselmian runners train on them. Every lunchtime a large number of runners engage in local runs to help build and maintain leg speed and cardiovascular fitness, as well as creating a real team spirit within the different Year groups.

St. Anselm’s enjoys regular success at a local, regional and national level winning many individual medals and team trophies each year. Recent successes have included winning the English National Schools Cup and the very prestigious King Henry Relays.
