Liturgical Year

One of the central concerns at St. Anselm’s is supporting parents in their challenging calling to encourage their sons to participate fully in the Sacraments and at the same time integrate the traditional liturgical calendar of the Church into the rhythm of their own lives.  Here a genuine, distinctively ‘Edmund Rice’ presentation of the Catholic faith is linked to the devout and reverent celebration of the Mass and of devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the Saints.

Alongside the seasons of the Advent, Lent and Paschaltide, each month has a focus for contemplation and the students are encouraged through Morning Prayer and assemblies to honour the Holy Rosary in October, the Holy Souls in November, St. Joseph in March, Our Lady in May, the Sacred Heart in June and the Precious Blood in July.
