FOSA Events 2005-6

During this term we have held 3 popular events that have brought parents together and raised funds for College projects. In October we hosted a very enjoyable Wine tasting, with Mr.Hollifield, Head of 6th Form, exhibiting the benefits of a lifetime’s serious research! On 18th November we held the college’s first ever Las Vegas Night with the Nevada-casino atmosphere crowned by a performance from Elvis! On Friday 2nd December the annual FOSA Christmas Quiz was, as ever, keenly contested. 20 teams and more than 100 contestants, of all ages, grappled with the fiendish questions set by Mr. & Mrs. Green with the Davenport clan emerging as worthy winners.

The FOSA Christmas Raffle will be drawn on Tuesday 20th December, deadline for returns 12 noon the same day. There are terrific prizes, including a signed Tranmere Rovers football shirt, 2 Tickets for the Empire Theatre, a Meal for 2 (£60) and bottles of spirits. Tickets cost £1 each. Please support us and encourage your son to return the stubs and payment to the Finance Office. There are prizes for the Form that sells the most tickets and the boy who sells the winning ticket, so please ensure that your son’s details are on the stubs! We receive matched funding from Barclays Bank for the first £750 raised by this Raffle. Usually we expect to raise £2000 this way, but we need your support.

Current projects identified by the Headmaster, Mr.Duggan, and supported by FOSA include the refurbishment of the Stage lighting and sound systems for College productions in the Hall and a new minibus by Summer 2007. Your support is invaluable!
