Our students' efforts on their own behalf are matched by their concern for the welfare of others less fortunate than themselves.
St. Anselm's has its own St. Vincent de Paul Society, which echoes Edmund Rice's earnest endeavours amongst the district's elderly, impoverished and infirm. Through the Friday Club, great efforts are made to enhance the social life of local adults with severe learning difficulties, with entertainments, parties and outings organised, all funded by the students themselves through sponsored and dedicated events.
There are direct links with the Third World through the Brothers' West African Mission in Sierra Leone. Support is offered through prayer, action and finance and the whole community takes part in an annual sponsored walk in memory of Brother Senan Kerrigan, a past Headmaster of the College who was murdered in Sierra Leone in 1995.
"Be intent on prayer, and whatever happens will turn to our good."![]() |
