Extra Curricular
The school offers opportunities for student involvement in a wide variety of extra curricular activites which take place during lunchtime, after school, at weekends and at holiday time.
- Sporting Activities cater for many interests, and include clubs and teams for rugby, cross country, hockey, athletics, cricket, tennis and basketball.
- Music based activities include choir, orchestra, string orchestra, wind band, junior wind band and the choral society.
- Other Clubs include: Art Club; Chess Club; Computer Club; Drama Club; Science Club.
- The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is introduced with the Key Stage 4 students, with many students progressing to Bronze, Silver and to Gold in the near future.
- The St Anselm's College St Vincent de Paul Society operates throughout the school from Year 9. This is available to all students, who will undertake a project in their Year group.
- The 'Friday Club' is organised by the Sixth Form for mentally handicapped adults in the community.
- To supplement and extend the work in the curriculum, visits may be arranged - usually day excursions - to places of interest. These include trips to the theatre, art galleries, museums, industrial visits and historical visits.
- All pupils will experience a 'retreat', either as a day or residentially over two or three days. These retreats help to deepen the spiritual dimension.
- Extended visits are organised by staff in holiday time. French trips, musical trips (e.g. to Austria and the Rhineland), and the ski course are annual events.
