Richard’s executioners (Philip Munro and Jonathon Murphy) make life uncomfortable for the Duke of Clarence (Michael Sullivan), the first victim of Richard’s reign of terror.

The Duke of York (Jonathan O’Neill), Queen Elizabeth (Joshua Hay) and the Archbishop (John Simpson) discuss the state of the nation.

The sadistic Ratcliffe (James Murphy) prepares to execute Lord Rivers (Joseph Fennelly), another of Richard’s enemies.

Lord Hastings (James McIntosh) unwittingly plays into the hands of Sir William Catesby (Thomas Mountford), one of Richard’s most loyal supporters.

Richard plays the loving uncle to the rightful heir to the throne, Prince Edward (Max Norman) and the young Duke of York, while the “deep revolving, witty” Buckingham (Dominic Stewart) looks on.

“God keep you…from false friends.” Richard plots the removal of his greatest obstacle to the throne, the young Prince Edward.
