Youth Synod on Social Media

As I'm sure you are aware the Pope has convened a Synod this October regarding young people. There was a nationwide study undertaken last year across the UK, for the preliminary research, that was sent to the Vatican. The Bishops Conference have produced a report with their findings. This report will be sent to every Parish and Secondary School. There are still ways for young people to leave their feedback that will be used in the Youth Synod throughout October.

From 19 – 24 March, around 300 young people representing the youth of the world are attending a Vatican meeting to set out the views of young people for #Synod 2018. Their input will be presented to the Pope on Palm Sunday, the 33rd World Youth Day.

The Holy Father wants as many young people as possible to be heard, so a team of young people working with the Vatican is encouraging everyone aged 16-29 to participate in these pre-synodal discussions by social media.

A Facebook group has been created to enable people to get involved.
The group is for 16-29 year olds, participants from all backgrounds are encouraged to sign up, not just Church-goers.

The closing date to sign up to this is Friday, 16th March. The questions that will be asked during the pre-synodal meeting will be available on the Facebook group on Monday, 12th March, from which point you are invited to respond. Sign up for the Facebook group

Twitter and Instagram accounts have also been created. Follow synod2018 on Instagram  and @synod2018 on Twitter. Use the hashtag #Synod2018, and make the most of your opportunity to have your say!
