Shrewsbury School relays success!

We had tremendous success at the Shrewsbury School relays yesterday at Attingham park, Shropshire. Our Junior and Senior teams competed for the first time in College history in this race and the boys as always represented the College in fine fashion.

In the beautiful surroundings of Attingham Park, the Junior Boys team (Year 9 & 10) came 2nd behind Shrewsbury School. Louis Johnston and Finan Johnston (both Year 10) achieved the 1st and 3rd fastest laps respectively. All the boys in the team ran exceptionally well and should be very proud of their efforts.

The Senior Boys (Year 11 & 13) race produced a thrilling finish, with Tom Spence running a superb last leg to overhaul Sedbergh School and to win the race for St Anselm's. All the boys running contributed to the win with Joe Wigfield achieving the fastest lap of the race.

A special mention must go to our soon to be departing Year 13 students, Mike Rooke and Joe Wigfield who ran in their last ever College Cross-Country event yesterday. They have been exemplary students and athletes from Year 7-13, representing the College at the highest level in terms of County, National and International standard. They have been fantastic role models to their younger peers and they are without doubt, true Anselmians.

Thanks again,
Mr S Simpson
