Excellent A Level results in 2018!

Year 13 students at the College have maintained the high standards of recent years. They are celebrating a successful conclusion to their College careers after achieving 51% grades A*-B grades at A level with a 100% pass rate this week. 98% of students achieved 3 or more GCE (A Level) or equivalent passes. This maintains the College’s tradition of high value added from GCSE to A Level. In 2017 we achieved the best such 6th Form results of any school 6th Form in Wirral. All students who aspired to a university place have received an offer with 40% of them at Russell Group universities.

There were many outstanding individual performances with Hardik Poptani, from Bebington, achieving 2A* & 2 grades, despite having only arrived in the UK at the age of 15. He will study Mathematics at Warwick University. Elijah Ferrante, from Bromborough, has won aplace at Balliol College, Oxford, to read Modern History. Haydn Bennett from Saughall Massie, one of 3 Anselmian triplets, all of whom are off to university, has secured his place to study Medicine at the University of Liverpool. Patrick Delaney from Meols, Jayvier Pereira from Greasby, Matthew Toomy Conlon, from Heswall and Con Desmond from Wallasey all achieved 4 high A Level grades.

Headmaster Simon Duggan declared “This has been an excellent year group, both academically and in terms of their contribution to the extra-curricular life of the College and they fully deserve these impressive results, especially given the uncertainty caused by the introduction of new A Level courses. These students were excellent role models for younger boys and have been outstanding ambassadors for St. Anselm’s. They have been one of our best-ever year groups so we will miss them and wish them deserved success at university and on apprenticeships.”
