Merseyside League race, hosted by St Anselm's College

Saturday 6th October saw the first Merseyside League race which was hosted by St Anselm's College alongside the Merseyside League committee at Birkenhead Park. Every 'A' team from Year's 7 - 6th Form, won their respective team races which provided us with the perfect start to the league.

In Year 7, there where tremendous debut performances from Sebastian Thorpe (4th), Ben Connor (6th) and Jack Talbot (7th). In Year 8, James Price excelled, winning the overall race and he was ably supported by Mark Sestan (5th) and Dylan Owen (6th).

The Year 9 & 10 race saw Joshua Hale continue his fine form, coming in 1st position with Harry Ross Hughes in a close 2nd place. The Senior team began proceedings with another strong turn out by all the Senior runners. Tom Spence won the overall race and Finan Johnston in Year 11 came 3rd, which is all the more impressive as he was running with boys who are a year if not two years older than him.

It was a great turnout by all members of each of the squads and all students must be commended for their efforts and endeavour on the day.

Well done to all who took part!
