Final Merseyside League race

The final Merseyside League race took place at Arrowe Park on Saturday 19th January. All the boys competed fantastically well and we where the overall team winners within each age group from Years 7 to the Senior team.

There were also a number of impressive individual performances in each age category. The Senior team saw Tom Spence (Year 13) become the overall Merseyside champion with another 1st placed finish and finishing narrowly behind him was Finan Johnston (Year 11) who came 2nd overall and Martin Hurst (Year 13) in 3rd place.

Joshua Hale (Year 10) became the individual Merseyside champion for the Year 9-10 age group with a 3rd placed finish with Zach Russell coming in 4th position but 2nd in the overall standings.

James Price in Year 8 came 3rd in the race and therefore 3rd overall and in Year 7, Seb Thorpe won a thrilling race to ensure that he came 3rd in the overall individual standings.

A fine effort in tough conditions by all of our Cross Country runners and we now look forward to the County Championships which is due to be held at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 2nd February.

Well done to all who represented the College!
