2nd XV Rugby: A successful season

The 2nd XV completed a successful season with an emphatic 44-7 victory away to Bolton School on Wednesday. We scored 8 tries in a free-flowing performance with impressive interplay between forwards and backs against brave, but outclassed, opponents. There were tries for Matthew Minton, Archie Jones, Dan Swainston (2), Finlay Pipe (+2 kicks), Fred Greaves, Harry Roscoe and Max Larsen. We would have comfortably exceeded 50 points but for the fact that, in true Barbarians style, we allowed retiring Year 13 players the opportunity to take conversions, which they completely wasted! This was the final College appearance for Dan Desmond (Captain), Josh Campbell and Luke Yates, all of whom have played 2nd XV rugby for the past 3 seasons and I thank them for their commitment and dedication to our team. We finished the season with an impressive Won 7, Lost 4 record and have many talented players in Years 11 & 12 who will now push for a 1st XV place next season. I would like to thank all squad members for their efforts and dedication this year, many of whom have now graduated to the 1st XV.
