    Year 5 Leadership Day in Science

    Year 5 pupils from several schools visited the College to take part in various activities run by a number of subject areas. In Science, pupils took part in a variety of practicals and demonstrations under the theme of Rainbows. They made up cardboard discs composed of the rainbow spectrum of colours which, when spun quickly, joined together to make white light. They used chromatography to separate the colours in black ink.     A Level Biology fieldwork in Birkenhead Park

    As part of the Ecology section of their A level Biology course, year 12 students went to Birkenhead Park this term. With the help of the Park Ranger Service, the students investigated how the species composition of plant communities is affected by such factors as frequency of mowing or the presence of trees. They will be returning in September to investigate the animal communities in the pond and lakes. Read More

    Hockey tour to Holland

    10th July 2015

    The College's first ever overseas Hockey tour departed on Sunday morning to Holland. The tour consists of 6 matches for the 1st and 2nd XI, 25 boys and 3 members of staff. Despite an ominous start with a delayed flight, a broken down bus and storms, the boys arrived at Vorhoort HC to find excellent facilities and hospitality. Read More

    Boys in Years 9 and 10 took part in this year's Biology Challenge competition organised by the Society of Biology. This involved an online exam testing in both Biology they will have learnt in school as well as general Biological knowledge.     Friday Club 40th Anniversary Celebration

    Over 100 people attended the Friday Club 40th Anniversary celebration on 26th June. Current members and helpers were joined by committee members and staff helpers from the past. These included Mr Bob Rimmer who was a Y12 student on the original committee from 1975. Mr Rimmer and current President Jacob McLaughlin cut the anniversary cake. Read More
