Good luck to the 28 players from Hoylake RFC, including Anselmians, who are taking part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest touch rugby match on 16th and 17th July. The current record stands at 30 hours, 3 minutes and 11 seconds.

This challenge is in memory of their friend and team mate, old Anselmian Dan Miller who passed away last year. Dan presented our Colours Awards in 2019. They are doing this in support of Dan’s favourite charity Water Aid. The team have received messages of support from Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, England Head Coach Eddie Jones and England World Cup Winner and British Lions Centre Will Greenwood.

As part of the fundraising effort Dan’s son Thomas, in Year 8, a third generation Anselmian, has taken part in his own 100k challenge. With his uncle he rode from Heswall to Moel Famau, ran to the summit and down and then rode back to Hoylake RFC in under 8 hours!
