Headmaster's Message Friday 10th September

Dear parents,

We have now come to the end of a very successful first week of term, although many of us have sports fixtures tomorrow morning, including rugby at The Ridings. The boys have settled well into our familiar routines, including Year 7 who are less familiar with them!

The College is hosting our annual Open Evening on Monday 13th September for primary school boys and their parents who are interested in a future Anselmian education. We will therefore close at 2pm on Monday. The 611 and 612 buses will leave then. We will re-open at 4.45pm for those students helping with the Open Evening. I offer my particular thanks to all those boys who are helping on the night, and their parents who will be transporting them!

Mention of buses leads me to remind you that boys are still expected to wear face masks on the 611 and 612 buses, as well as on other forms of public transport, in line with Public Health guidance. Some boys have not had face coverings with them this week so if your son is travelling by bus please ensure that he has a mask.

I am pleased to advise you that we have now completed our onsite LFD Covid testing. Several asymptomatic cases were identified, justifying this initiative. Boys are now expected to take LFD tests twice weekly at home. They now know how to administer them and kits will be distributed in Form Time on Monday. Please ensure that your sons take the tests regularly in order to keep our community safe. There are currently 9 boys absent with Covid, similar to last year, so the virus is still out there as we know from the media!

I wish you and your families an enjoyable and relaxing weekend after some of the most extreme weather of my Headship!

Best wishes,

Simon Duggan
