Senior Hockey results this week

Both the First and Second XI lost tightly contested games this week to Calday Grange Grammar School. The First XI played on Monday night and had to overcome 2 early injuries that side-lined 2 of our senior players.

The boys dug in and kept battling for each other and managed to stay in the game. Even though at half time we were 2 - 0 down, goals from Year 11 Sedgwick and Captain Taylor, we got the match back to 2-2. A short corner with 3 minutes to go led to a goal for the home side and meant we lost the game 3 -2. A brave performance from the boys and players such as Guy and Martin did a fantastic job at stepping up.

The Second XI also put in an equally brave performance in a game in which they had to defend for long periods of time. With only 1 goal in the game we unfortunately did not take our chances when we created them but nothing can be taken away from the boys work ethic. A mention to both keepers, Alderson and Allmark who both had fantastic performances and kept both teams in their respective games with an array of saves.

Myself and Mr Steepe were extremely proud of the boys who represented the College this week in what is always a tough fixture. We play Wirral next week in a mixed 2nd XI/U16 fixture with the Year 13s on exams.
