Headmaster's Message Friday 13th May

Dear parents and carers,
we are now more than half-way through this short half-term and some familiar routines are underway.

Year 12 finished their UCAS Exams today and their Reports will be sent home after half-term.
Year 11 begin written GCSE Exams on Monday, so please remember the boys in your prayers. They have responded well to the promptings of their teachers, and we are confident that they are largely ready for the challenges that lie ahead. Year 11 boys will begin Study Leave towards the end of next week, once they have demonstrated that they have assimilated exam routines and can cope with the logistical requirements. This is explained in Mr Dowse's letter which has been emailed to you and is on the College website.

Summer sports are well underway. Our Cricket teams have made a good start to the season and our Intermediate and Junior Athletes compete in the local round of the English Schools Athletics Cup on Monday.
I am delighted to inform you of the success of our students Dexter Doyle (winner of the Year 7 Competition) and Patrick Shaw (6th Form, Highly Commended) in the 2022 Christopher Salmon Poetry Competition. There were nearly 600 entries in this prestigious Wirral competition this year.

I wish you and your families an enjoyable weekend and hope to see the FA Cup returned to its natural habitat tomorrow!
Kind regards,
Simon Duggan
Headmaster
