School of Sanctuary

We were very proud to receive our re award as a School of Sanctuary today at Birkenhead Town Hall; we remain one of two secondary schools on Wirral recognised for our work with Asylum seekers and Refugees.

St Anselm's College is proud to continue to be recognised as a 'School of Sanctuary'; a place where refugees and migrants are known about and supported. The College is active in its mission to support those in needs and have built up very strong links with Asylum Link Merseyside; providing books and stationery for their English classes and inviting speakers to the College to put a human face to asylum seekers for our students. We also take groups of asylum seekers on trips; recent days out have been to Chester and Blackpool; and invite refugees to our annual Christmas Panto!

It is a partnership where we get far more than we give and one we plan to continue.
