The 1st XV have made an impressive start to the season

The 1st XV have made an impressive start to the season with 3 wins a draw and a solitary loss to a very powerful Cheadle.
This is a very young 1st XV and big wins against Hutton and Birkenhead have involved a lot of fast flowing rugby. There is a third round NatWest Vase game to look forward to in October against Bishop Heber.

The squad have suffered in the early weeks from a number of injuries including captain Mat Kendal. However, Fintan Lynch has shown good leadership and the team has shown great character. Year 11s Hassall, Paziuk and Ashton have all seamlessly made the step up to senior rugby and mad a big impact. This is a big season for Senior rugby with a tour to South Africa in July 2020.

Well done
