Public Speaking

Congratulations to Year 12 student Michael Hughes who won the Birkenhead Catenians Public Speaking Competition, hosted by  St. Werburgh and St. Laurence parish, on Friday 24th January, maintaining our proud tradition in debating. Michael spoke with impressive cogency, clarity and poise on the timeless topic of The Romans, and Rome: The Empire that never dies, defeating talented opponents from Upton hall school and St. John Plessington HS, and our own distinguished public debater Noa Sundqvist (Y13). Michael will now represent the College at the regional finals in March.
