Hockey News 12th March

There was no First XI hockey fixture this week, however, the Second XI travelled to Kings School Macclesfield and won 4-3 in a game that should have had more goals. St Anselm's dominated possession early and won numerous short corners without converting them. This proved costly and we went 1-0 down via Kings' first short corner of the game. The boys showed character though and battled back. Goals from Meehan and O'Brien saw us go in 2-1 up at half time. In the second half we went on the attack again and another goal from O'Brien and a goal from Haslam saw us 4-1 up. Two late goals from Kings made for a nervy last couple of minutes but the boys saw the game out. 2 wins in a row for this team and 10 goals in the last two games. Well done to Jinks who was man of the match and ran the game in midfield.

Thanks to all the boys who played and represented the College.
