Cricket News

It’s has been a frustrating year for Cricketers with half of the season lost to lockdown and the entire school season decimated.
It’s great to see Year 9 St.Anselm’s College pupil Lewis get into his stride quickly when the season commenced in August.
Lewis playing for Birkenhead Park U13’s versus Wallasey U13’s had an amazing start to the season. His first ball was a loosner as to be expected in the first match of the season. However, he then got a wicket with his next 5 deliveries all bowled. In Cricket this is the rareness of events a Quintiple wicket maiden!! He missed out on a double hat trick in his second over, but had someone dropped on the second ball.
Lewis wasn’t finished there and went and got another hat trick the next weekend! In the return game against the same Wallasey U13’s team. He took 5 for 15 off 4 overs.
His figures so far for this year (three games) are:
9 overs
36 runs
12 wickets
2 Maidens
This a great achievement and let'shope Lewis maintains this form when he can next represent the College! Well done!
